It looks like they had great time! Wednesday, April 27, 2005Two For Cabo Wabo
From Joe and Mary Travelog: Cabo San Lucas '05:
The Cabo Wabo is rocker Sammy Hagar's bar/restaurant in Cabo San Lucas. What? You've never heard of Sammy Hager?? He's only the former lead singer of Van Halen! Mary and I stopped in for dinner, which was excellent! It was here I bought a classy "Got Tequila?" t-shirt. A little bit of everything for everybody in Cabo! Tuesday, April 26, 2005Fun With Friends In Cabo
From Johnny Jet's Blog:
I went to downtown Cabo San Lucas with my colleagues/friends. We had a good time at Sancho Panza and Cabo Wabo. Sometimes its just about the simple things. Fun, relaxation, and a beautiful location. Sunday, April 24, 2005Kinky Friedman In Cabo
From latimes.com:
Kinky Friedman, country singer turned mystery writer, is still jazzed. He's in a car hurtling from Houston to this small oil-and-tourism town on the Gulf of Mexico, and he's a talking jukebox. Put in a question and listen to him riff about himself and other musicians, about politics and politicians, about books and his beloved Texas. What about Kinky and Cabo? Friedman's transformation from mystery writer to politician began with a cliffhanger. He was vacationing at a friend's Cabo San Lucas house in 1998 when a rogue wave swept him up and stranded him at the bottom of a cliff for more than 24 hours. "I was lost on this cliff, and nobody could find me," Friedman says. "I had a bathing suit and a cigar, no matches. I was on this cliff with the lizards and the iguanas all night. I could see the village, but I thought I would have died if I tried to get there." Quite a story! Saturday, April 23, 2005Connected In Cabo
From Eclecticity: Dan Shafer's Blog Universe:
My wife and I arrived in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, yesterday afternoon. A few mishaps and delays later, we are ensconced in a beautiful ground-floor suite with a panoramic ocean view on the Mexican Riviera. And, as you can see, I have Internet connectivity. In fact, we have both wireless and wired hookups. The wireless seems a bit slow and flaky, but the wired connection is just fine. A little slower than I'm used to (but I'm spoiled) but just fine. There's more. Friday, April 22, 2005Where The Sea Of Cortez Meets The Pacific Ocean
Beautiful from Verbose:
This is a picture of Land's End in Cabo San Lucas where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean. The waters on the other side of this rock formation are some of the best Marlin fishing in the entire world. This is a great picture and on the south end of the Playa Grande property. Thursday, April 21, 2005Bill Poole, The Godfather Of Southern California Sportfishing
Here is a fascinating story from the LA Times about Bill Poole, the godfather of Southern California sportfishing:
In 1973 Poole launched his own boatbuilding company which soon built the 112-foot Royal Polaris, at the time was the world's largest sportfishing boat. It allowed him to offer trips to Alijos Rocks, 500 miles south of San Diego, and Hurricane Bank off Cabo San Lucas. Today these destinations are popular fishing spots, but when Poole first fished them, they were little-known. Great reading. Wednesday, April 20, 2005The Latest On Alan Thicke!!!
Just in case you were desperate for the latest Alan Thicke news:
Former Growing Pains star Alan Thicke is hoping the third time's the charm as he makes his long-term girlfriend Tanya Callau his third wife next month. The 58-year-old actor, who played Dr. Jason Seaver in the classic 1980s TV comedy, will marry Callau in Cabo San Lucas, northern Mexico on May 7. We hadn't heard from Alan in a while. We wish the best to him and Tanya. 7 Nights From December 18 2005 to December 25 7 Nights From December 24 2005 to December 31 7 Nights: December 31 2005 to January 6 (Offer good until March 15, 2005) Tuesday, April 19, 2005The People of Baja-Mexico
From Mick's Eclectic:
We always felt safe wherever we were, whether it was in the bustling tourist center of Cabos San Lucas or the sleepy little Mexican village of San Jose del Cabo. The Mexicans have a relaxed, easy going style, and yet they were incredibly hard working in serving us at the hotel and other activities we experienced. They really made Los Cabos feel like our own small town after only a week. For us it was just fun walking aorund the marina and talking to people and soaking it all in. Check out Captain Tony's while you are there! Monday, April 18, 2005Stock Hobie 33 wins Cabo Race!!!
From Hobie 33 North American Association:
Great News!!! A stock Hobie 33 won the Cabo Race in class and OVERALL!! Lets post this on the website!!!!! Cool stuff in Cabo. Check it out! Saturday, April 16, 2005What Happens In Cabo, Stays In Cabo
From Gustie's Blog:
Metcalfe Director David Cunningham recently returned from a ten day vacation in Cabo San Lucas and a short four day stay in Red River, New Mexico. In Cabo, Cunningham took in the sites, visited some clubs, listened each night to the great Rock 'n Roll of Brian Flynn and the band at Cannery Row, danced at Cabo Wabo, and took in the rays on the beach chairs outside of world famous Billigan's Island. He also met some interesting people, including "Limo" Tom (a cowboy hat-wearin' Texan who has the only limousine service in Cabo); the Olson family (Bobbie, Frank, and Casey) who let Dave be a part of their family for an evening; the M&M girls (Marti and Mitch), a couple of very cool postal workers from California; and Ruby from Palm Springs and her nice friend who shared dinner with David while listening to live Andean music by the group "Leyenda." Always something cool in Cabo... Thursday, April 14, 2005From What The...?
From What The...?:
To start, I have posted a set of pics from our recent trip to Cabo San Lucas Mexico. We were there on the first week of March. It was a last minute trip that we planned. It turned out to be one of the best times that we have ever had. We have many more trips planned for the future. I can hardly wait to share those pictures with you. Another great story from Cabo... 7 Nights From December 18 2005 to December 25 7 Nights From December 24 2005 to December 31 7 Nights: December 31 2005 to January 6 (Offer good until March 15, 2005) Tuesday, April 12, 2005Road Trip!
From thesouthern.com:
NEW YORK (AP) -- The end of winter means it's time to plan a road trip. Pack up the family in a minivan, take a motorcycle trip with a buddy, or see the country in your RV. If you're looking for inspiration, here are a few resources. - The April issue of Men's Journal magazine lists ideas for great North American road trips. Itineraries include Highway 1, also known as the Transpeninsular Highway, from San Diego, south through Baja to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico... I can't wait to get on the road to Cabo again! Monday, April 11, 2005Excited About Going To Cabo For Vacation!
From kerrymch1:
It's Saturday morning about 10;30 and I am going to do laundry for my husband and me. I am on a tight schedule for the next 2 days as we are going to Mexico for a10 day, much needed vacation. We are going to Cabo San Lucas. It's at the very tip of Baja, California also known as the end of the world. We love it there! The city is clean and well cared for, and everyone works. The little kids get tips at the grocery store for bagging groceries and carrying them out to the car. Another Cabo lover! Sunday, April 10, 2005One Of The "Three Dogs" In Cabo
Remember the rock group "Three Dog Night"? Yes, it is fun to listen to some of those old songs...
From muskogeephoenix.com: Lynn Hoffman of Muskogee experienced a dream Friday: Three Dog Night rocked the house from 10:25 p.m. until almost midnight. "I've been waiting 25 years to get this band here," Hoffman said. "They're my favorite band." From the roar of the crowd, the 1970s group is a favorite of the more than 2,000 people who filled a special setup on Muskogee Civic Assembly Center's floor. After intermission, Three Dog Night took the stage built in the center of the arena floor on the south side kicking off the show with "Family of Man." ...Keyboardist Jimmy Greenspoon is an original member of the band that had more Top 10 hits from 1969 to 1974 than any other band. He said they have been playing to sell-out crowds for 35 years. "Moms and dads are bringing their kids and say, 'Thank God for good music,'" Greenspoon said during sound check. ...At age 57, Greenspoon's showing no signs of slowing down. Band members make their homes all across the United States: Greenspoon lives in Tacoma, Wash., and drummer Pat Bautz lives in Florida. Bautz does claim to have lived briefly in Tulsa in 1979. ...After Muskogee, the group will go to Greenspoon's hometown of Tacoma for a concert and then it's off to Dallas, Los Angeles and Cabo San Lucas, where Greenspoon plans to take a little vacation time. Well, of course. 7 Nights From December 18 2005 to December 25 7 Nights From December 24 2005 to December 31 7 Nights: December 31 2005 to January 6 (Offer good until March 15, 2005) Friday, April 08, 2005It's Only Number 2?
From ScarletTrinity:
what are 10 things you want to do before you die? 1. Get married again. 2. spend a week in Cabo San Lucas. 3. Have something written about me...you know...inspire a character in a book, movie, whatever 4. See Wayne Newton in Vegas 5. Be literally kidnapped for a romantic weekend getaway 6. Visit Thailand 7. skydive 8. Watch my daughter marry the love of her life. 9. learn to actually speak more than 5 words in Italian. 10. know what it feels like to be truly loved...for who i am. We agree with many of these...in particular number 2. Thursday, April 07, 2005A Beautiful Picture Of CaboWednesday, April 06, 2005What To Pack To Cabo
"Move To Cabo" blog shares some ideas on what to pack to Cabo San Lucas:
As a general rule each one of your suitcases, bags or boxes need to be 50 pounds or under or you might have a problem. My last trip I had a box that weighed 53 lbs and was charged the over weight fee. I was given the option of taking some items out but it was a box i perfectly packed and sealed and opted for the fee over the repack. Here's are the fees for three different airlines: America West- Two free checked bags Overweight fees- $50 per piece, 51-70 pounds, $80 per piece 71-100 pounds United- Two free checked bags Overweight fees- $25 per piece, 51-99 pounds American- Two free checked bags Overweight fees- $25 per piece weighing 51-70 pounds; $50 per piece, 71-100 pounds We have it all here don't we! Tuesday, April 05, 2005A lot of margaritas and a lot of fun in the sun in Mexico!
From the Godwins:
Cabo San Lucas is a great honeymoon spot. Evy and I, thanks to all your support of course, were able to enjoy some quality time together and take in some sights like Lover's Beach, the Arch, Cabo Wabo, and all the rest Cabo has to offer. All great spots and all in walking distance! Monday, April 04, 2005Sammy Hagar and Cabo Wabo
From Blogcritics.com:
You've got to give the old Red Rocker some credit - the guy knows how to throw one hellacious birthday party. I'm talkin' bottomless margaritas, fist-pumping live party-rock, and, most importantly, all those sexy Miss Cabo Wabo strippers...err..."contestants" strutting around the joint. This installment of the Cabo Wabo Birthday Bash takes place on November 18, 2000 at The Chicago Theatre, Chicago, Illinois, coming shortly after the official tour kick-off down at Hagar's own Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Cabo has many facets. This is one of them. Saturday, April 02, 2005Lauren & Phil Engaged In Cabo
